What is the Littlehampton Town Show?
There are many Town Shows and County Shows around there country where residents compete for the accolade of ‘Best Victoria Sandwich’, ‘Best Carrots’ or ‘Best Knitted Item’, among many other. The Littlehampton Town Show is one of the few surviving events around Sussex and the volunteer committee are keen to keep it going, but to do this we need exhibitors to enter. It’s great fun with an element of competition thrown in. And if you don’t manage to secure a first, second or third place, it’s just rewarding to be involved in the community event.
Anyone can enter the Town Show
The Town Show committee organises everything that goes on in the Town Show Marquee and it is run in conjunction with the Family Fun Day. The rest of the show (Charity Marquee, dog show and vendors etc) is coordinated by The Littlehampton Town Council.
The show is always the second Saturday of September.

How to Enter the Town Show
- Get hold of a schedule. View it online on our website or pick it up around town from local libraries and shops.
- You don’t need to be living in Littlehampton to enter.
- Decide where your hidden talent is .… each category is called a class.
- Prepare well ahead if growing. But there’s plenty of time to create your entry for most categories.
- The deadline for submitting the entry form is always the Wednesday before the show. Cost of entry is 25p per class, but it’s free for all the children’s classes in section 6.
For 2025 – You now have the option to submit your entry form by email and pay your entry fee via bank transfer. If this is more convenient for you, please email us a scanned copy or clear photo of your completed entry form. We will then provide you with our bank details for payment. - There is an auction after the show of donated exhibits. If you wish to donate your exhibits to the auction to help raise funds for next years show, place a tick where indicated on the entry form.
- On the morning of the show you need to come along to Rosemead Park and stage your exhibits. Arrive between 7am and 10am. You can drive into the park via Rosemead turning off East Street, just let the marshals know you are exhibiting. When finished, remove your car from the field.
- At 10am the tent will close for judging to take place.
- Return after 1.30pm to see if your efforts have rewarded you with a place. Please do not remove your exhibits until after the prize giving at 4.30pm.
- From 4pm prize money can be collected. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place all get prize money as stated in the schedule.
- At 4.30pm the trophy and prize giving takes place. Trophies will be presented to the winners. The winners will need to sign to agree to keep them safe for the year. The following August, the trophies are returned so there is time to get them engraved with the winners details before the September Show. There are a few exceptions, eg children’s section, where the winner of each age group gets to keep their trophy.
- If you are collecting your exhibit, please wait until after prizegiving.
- At 4.45pm there will be the auction of donated exhibits. A chance to take home some amazing prize winning flowers, produce and crafts and some items kindly donated by local businesses.
